1-on-1 with Robyn Ah Mow

Tiff Wells sat down with University of Hawai’i women’s volleyball head coach Robyn Ah Mow ahead of the 2019 season. Now in her third year, coach Ah Mow excited to get started with what seems like a new team with 9 players having never played in the Stan Sheriff Center. She’s developing a culture within the program and makes sure everyone understands what her and her staff are trying to build, “if you’re not on board with that, then I just kick you out of the gym. Simple.”

It’s about hard work and knowing what your goal is. Everyday I tell them from the time you step in the gym you gotta know what your goal is. When you step in the gym are you working towards that goal or are you just in the gym? Figure that out and when you do, things will come.

The Rainbow Wahine begin their season on August 30 with the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic where they will face San Diego (Friday), St. John’s (Saturday), and Washington (Sunday).
