With the NFL Draft Combine away, the excitement for April’s NFL Draft continues to build. Former University of Hawaii QB Cole McDonald is regarded as a late-round pick or possibly an undrafted signee. Here’s the complete list of UH players who were selected in the first THREE ROUNDS of the NFL Draft. Speedster Ashley Lelie remains the only UH player to have been drafted in Round 1. Of course, being a top pick does not guarantee success, nor does being a late-round pick prevent a player from flourishing in the league. Jesse Sapolu, remember, was chosen in the 11th round of the 1983 NFL Draft, and his 15-year playing career with the San Francisco 49ers included four Super Bowl rings and two All-Pro Team selections.
