Support the UH Athletics Food Drive

Many families and individuals in Hawaii are still suffering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the state’s first “Stay at home, work from home” order, demand for assistance has increased by nearly 60 percent. In an effort to help the local community and as part of its “BOWS TOGETHER” initiative, University of Hawaii Athletics is holding a food drive one week from today, Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The contactless, drive-thru food drive will be held at the Stan Sheriff Center parking lot. Fan’s dropping off donations are asked to place the food items in the trunk of their vehicles and remain in their cars when they pull into the SSC’s parking loop. A food drive volunteer will be on hand to remove the donations from the trunk. UH coaches and student-athletes will also be present to greet donors and to say, “Mahalo.”

Suggested items to donate include: canned proteins (tuna, chicken, etc.), canned meals (stew, spaghetti, chili, etc.), canned fruits, canned vegetables and rice.

The food donations will be given to the Hawaii Foodbank.

Please support the UH Athletics’ Food Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 7!
