December 5, 2015. Fresh off the thrilling comeback victory over TCU in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament the previous night, seventh-ranked Hawai‘i squared off against 15th-ranked and host Texas A&M, the No. 10 national seed. The champions of the SEC couldn’t slow down Hawaii’s well-balanced attack as the Rainbow Wahine won the opening set, 25-22. The Bows hit .359 with 18 kills in the process. Eighteen more kills with a .412 hitting percentage gave the visitors a commanding 25-19 set two victory. The Bows defense held the Aggies to a mere .135 hitting percentage for the third-set victory (25-20), completing the sweep. Nikki Taylor led all attackers with a match-high 14 kills. Olivia Magill and Kalei Greely each added 10 kills, while Emily Maglio chipped in nine as UH (28-1) moved into the Sweet 16 and crashed the Big Ten-themed Des Moines Regional (Minnesota, Penn State and Illinois).
