All About the Wins

As hard as it might be to believe, Mike Krzyzewski wasn’t always considered a great head basketball coach. In his first three seasons at Duke University, “Coach K” had compiled a record of 38-47, including 13-29 in the ACC. In those initial years, the Blue Devils never finished higher than fifth in the conference. Fans and boosters were calling for his firing, but then-Athletic Director Tom Butters preached patience to the Duke faithful.

And the rest is history. Today, more than 40 years and five NCAA championships later, Krzyzewski stands alone as the winningest NCAA Division I basketball head coach in history. And he’s still going.
