ESPN Honolulu to host new UH Athletic Director Craig Angelos Radio Show

HONOULU, HI – ESPN Honolulu is excited to announce a radio show event series with the University of Hawaii’s new Athletic Director Craig Angelos. The exclusive live program will kick off on Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. hosted by Kanoa Leahey at Velocity Honolulu.

This free event will be open to the public for attendees to hear directly from Angelos as UH gears up for the coming football season, and ask their burning questions live on-site and on-air. Listeners can also call in or text their questions to 808-296-1420.

“We’re thrilled to have Craig join us for this monthly program to talk about UH sports,” said Matt Apana, ESPN Honolulu General Manager. “So many members of our community are die-hard UH fans and this regular event allows our listeners and UH fans across the state to get first-hand access to our new athletic director, ask questions, get to know him more personally, and hear his leadership philosophy, and vision for UH athletics.”

Angelos joined the University of Hawaii in May of 2023 as the 24th Athletic Director and brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience in intercollegiate athletics. During the August program, listeners can expect to hear from Angelos on the upcoming football season, his journey to becoming UH’s new athletic director, and more.

“This will be my first dedicated regular radio show to talk exclusively about the UH athletic program and I am excited to partner with ESPN Honolulu on this monthly special event,” said Angelos. “I want to get out in the community and hear directly from the UH fans, students, alumni, and ESPN Honolulu listeners, on what they’re excited or concerned about. This is such a great platform for our well-established audience and the fan base of UH sports fans.”

Future programs are scheduled for Sept. 12, Oct. 17 and Nov. 14 of this year, with additional monthly shows from December 2023 through May 2024.

Velocity Honolulu is located at 888 Kapiolani Blvd. Valet parking will be available and food and beverages will be offered for purchase at Velocity Honolulu.
