Kahuku Secures First OIA Boys Soccer Title Since 2011

Trailing in the second half, Kahuku tied the match in the 72nd minute when Kea Lerner converted a penalty kick. Five minutes later, Lerner’s through ball set up Noah Vaiaoga for the game-winning goal.

Waipahu nearly equalized twice, including a breakaway attempt and a direct free kick, but Kahuku goalkeeper Tobias Erickson made a critical save to preserve the victory.

Both teams will advance to the Division II state championships.
