Mililani secured its fourth consecutive OIA Division I boys soccer championship with a thrilling 2-1 double-overtime victory over Campbell. Caleb Ishizaka scored the golden goal on a penalty kick in the 94th minute after a collision in the box led to a yellow card for Campbell’s goalkeeper and the decisive call.
Ishizaka also assisted on Mililani’s equalizer in the 48th minute, setting up Tyler Cole Tamashiro, who capitalized on a deflection to tie the game. Campbell had taken an early 1-0 lead in the 24th minute on a Bryson Ancheta goal, marking the first time all season Mililani trailed in a match.
The Sabers, who fell to Mililani in last year’s final, were unable to secure their first league title but will join the Trojans in representing the OIA at the state tournament.
