MaxPreps has honored top high school girls basketball players annually since 2006, recognizing individual excellence, team success, and state accolades.
For the 2024-25 season, Kamehameha Kapalama’s Nihoa Dunn has been named Hawaii’s MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot junior led the Warriors to a 28-3 record and their first Division I state title since 2013, averaging 16.0 points per game.
Dunn shined in the state tournament, scoring 15 points in the quarterfinals, 24 in the semifinals, and 18 points with 13 rebounds in the championship win over ‘Iolani. Her performance earned her tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.
