Super Bowl Champ Jeff Hostetler Advocates for Youth Mental Health at Moanalua

Moanalua High School welcomed former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl champion Jeff Hostetler on Friday for a special event aimed at promoting youth mental health. The visit was part of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

Partnering with QB United, the Hawai‘i Department of Education, and the Cook Center for Human Connection, Hostetler participated in the “Huddle Up for Youth Mental Health” event. The program brought together students, parents, and educators to emphasize the importance of mental wellness and encourage open conversations about seeking help.

Hostetler, who led the New York Giants to victory in Super Bowl XXV, highlighted the critical need to address mental health challenges among youth. He shared sobering statistics about suicide rates and urged the community to use available free resources to support children’s well-being.

Hawai‘i DOE Superintendent Keith Hayashi also spoke at the event, underscoring the importance of prioritizing mental health as a key part of education.

Through efforts like these, Hostetler and his partners hope to spread positivity and provide tools to help youth and families face mental health challenges head-on.
