‘Bows Dominate UC San Diego on Senior Day, Punch Ticket to Big West Tournament

The Hawai‘i Rainbow Warriors extended their season with a commanding 13-2 victory over UC San Diego on Senior Day, clinching a spot in the Big West Championship tournament.

Senior Jordan Donahue delivered a performance to remember, going 4-for-5 with two home runs—including a momentum-shifting grand slam in the third inning—while driving in five runs, scoring three times, and even stealing home.

After falling behind 1-0 early, Hawai‘i tied the game in the second before exploding for six runs in the third to take control. The offense stayed hot, adding insurance runs in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings to put the game out of reach.

On the mound, the trio of Sebastian Gonzalez, Freddy Rodriguez, and Isaiah Magdaleno combined to hold the Tritons to just two runs on five hits. Rodriguez earned the win with four shutout innings in relief.

Fellow seniors Ben Zeigler-Namoa (4-for-4, 2 runs) and Hunter Faildo (2-for-5, 2 RBIs) also came through in their final home appearances, helping the ‘Bows cap off an emotional and emphatic win.

Next up: Hawai‘i will face UC Santa Barbara in a single-elimination matchup at the Big West Championship in Fullerton, California. First pitch is set for 9 a.m. HST on Wednesday. Listen live on ESPN Honolulu 92.7 FM | 1420 AM.
