At just 14 years old, Breidi Higa is making waves in the world of flag football. The standout athlete from King Intermediate School has become the first in Hawaii — and only the second in the nation — to receive a college flag football offer, coming from Hope International University in California.
Breidi’s accomplishment is a major milestone for girls’ flag football in the islands, a sport that’s rapidly growing in popularity at both the high school and collegiate levels. Her talent and dedication have put her on the national radar, and the journey is just getting started.
Next month, Breidi will head to Los Angeles to compete in the USA Flag Football Select Bowl, where she’ll join some of the top young athletes in the country.
