The NBA offseason has begun. Before last offseason, the 2021 NBA free-agent class was seen as potentially historic. LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Paul George, Rudy Gobert and Jrue Holiday were expected to be available. Instead, they all signed contract extensions with their existing teams, drastically reducing the star power in this class. This summer, Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan were at the head of the free-agent class. Only five teams were projected to have significant cap space this summer, with the New York Knicks leading the way with up to $50 million available. With the free-agent landscape drastically altered from what it was expected to be, we could see another busy offseason of trades.  Sept. 274:41 p.m. ET: Forward Michael Porter Jr. has agreed to a five-year designated max extension with the Denver Nuggets that could be worth up to $207 million, his agent Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports tells ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal is worth $172 million unless Porter reaches the designated max criteria and makes one of the three All-NBA teams this season. Sept. 1110:20 p.m. ET: The LA Clippers have agreed to a training camp deal with center Isaiah Hartenstein, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Hartenstein, 23, averaged 8.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in 16 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers after being traded by the Denver Nuggets in March. Sept. 107:09 p.m. ET: The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a three-year deal with guard Jordan McLaughlin. McLaughlin, a former two-way contract signing for the Wolves, averaged 5.0 points and 3.8 assists in 51 games last season. 7:08 p.m. ET: The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a three-year, $13.8 million deal with forward Jarred Vanderbilt, his agent, Kevin Bradbury, told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Vanderbilt, 22, averaged 5.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in 64 games with the Timberwolves last season. 3:22 p.m. ET: The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to trade center Marc Gasol, a 2024 second-round pick and cash to the Memphis Grizzlies for the draft rights to center Wang Zhelin, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Grizzlies and Gasol will work together on a waiver and release that will allow the 36-year-old to remain in Spain. Sept. 86:01 p.m. ET: The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a two-year, $3.5 million deal with guard Kevin Pangos, his agent, Zach Kurtin tells ESPN's Bobby Marks. Pangos, 28, was the 2015 WCC player of the year at Gonzaga, and was considered one of the top points guards in Euroleague while playing with Zenit Saint Petersburg in Russia. 5:17 p.m. ET: Guard E'Twaun Moore has agreed to a one-year, $2.6 million deal with the Orlando Magic, his agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Moore, 32, returns for his 11th season and second run with the Magic after averaging 4.9 points with the Phoenix Suns last season. Sept. 65:45 p.m. ET: Forward Alize Johnson has agreed to a two-year, $3.6 million deal with the Chicago Bulls, his agent, George Langberg, told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Johnson averaged 5.2 points and 5 rebounds per game with the Brooklyn Nets last season. Sept. 36:58 p.m. ET: Upon formal completion of a buyout with the Detroit Pistons, center DeAndre Jordan intends to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Jordan would have to first clear waivers to become a free agent. 5:01 p.m. ET: After retiring due to heart concerns five months ago, seven-time All Star LaMarcus Aldridge is returning on a one-year, $2.6M deal with Brooklyn Nets, his agent, Jeff Schwartz, told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The 35-year-old center has been medically cleared by a number of doctors -- both independent and Nets-affiliated -- to return for a 16th NBA season. 4:26 p.m. ET: The Brooklyn Nets are trading center DeAndre Jordan, four second-round picks and $5.78M to the Detroit Pistons for center Jahlil Okafor and forward Sekou Doumbouya, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Nets will save $47M in salary and tax on the deal, while the Pistons will work to negotiate a buyout with Jordan, allowing him to become a free agent. In that scenario, the Lakers will be a serious contender to sign the 33-year-old big man. 11:55 a.m. ET: The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to trade forward Juancho Hernangomez to the Boston Celtics for guards Kris Dunn, Carsen Edwards and a swap of 2026 second-round picks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal can't formally be completed until Sept. 15, when Dunn's contract and Edwards' contract are allowed to be aggregated in the trade. Sept. 111:47 a.m. ET: Center Clint Capela has agreed to a two-year, $46 million extension with the Atlanta Hawks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The 27-year-old, who averaged 15.2 points and a league-high 14.3 rebounds per game last season, had two years remaining on his deal and is now under contract through the 2024-25 season. Aug. 284:45 p.m. ET: Two-time NBA champion and four-time All-Star guard Rajon Rondo has agreed to a buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies, and, upon clearing waivers, will likely sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Rondo, 35, was a member of the 2020 championship Lakers squad and would fill the final available spot on the roster. Aug. 2712:01 p.m. ET: The Cleveland Cavaliers are acquiring restricted free agent Lauri Markkanen from the Chicago Bulls on a four-year, $67 million deal sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.The Bulls will receive Derrick Jones Jr. and a lottery-protected 2022 first-round pick from the Portland Trail Blazers and a 2023 second-round pick from Denver (via Cleveland). The Cavaliers will also send Larry Nance Jr. to Portland. Aug. 237:56 p.m. ET: The Boston Celtics and forward Josh Richardson have agreed to a one-year, $12 million extension, his agent Bill Duffy of BDA Sports told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Celtics acquired Richardson from the Dallas Mavericks last month by using the remainder of the trade exception created by the sign-and-trade deal that sent Gordon Hayward to the Charlotte Hornets in November. Richardson had one year and $11.5 million left on his deal, which now runs through the 2022-2023 season. Aug. 201:18 p.m. ET: The Boston Celtics and center Robert Williams III have agreed to a four-year, $54 million contract extension, agent Kevin Bradbury of REP1 Sports told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal will put Williams, 23, among the top half of centers in the NBA in terms of annual salary and is a bet on him growing into the promise he has shown throughout the first three years of his career. Diallo, 23, averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds with the Pistons after being acquired in a midseason trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder. 10:32 a.m. ET: Terry Rozier has agreed to a four-year, $97 million extension with the Charlotte Hornets, a source confirmed to ESPN. Rozier's extension was first reported by The Athletic. Aug. 172:31 p.m. ET: Taj Gibson's deal with the New York Knicks has been restructured, agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Gibson will now sign a two-year, $10.1 million deal to return to New York. He had originally agreed to a one-year deal. 11:01 a.m. ET: The Memphis Grizzlies are trading Patrick Beverley to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Beverley was traded to Memphis on Sunday in the deal that sent Eric Bledsoe to the LA Clippers. 8:02 a.m. ET: Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid is finalizing a four-year, $196 million supermax contract extension, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. The extension keeps Embiid under contract with the Sixers through the 2026-27 season for a total of $261 million. The four-time All-Star already was set to make $65 million over the final two years of his current deal. Aug. 165:57 p.m. ET: Marcus Smart has agreed to a four-year, $77 million contract extension with the Boston Celtics, sources told ESPN. The extension begins with the 2022-23 season and is the maximum allowable off Smart's $14.3 million salary for 2021-22. The deal does not include a player option. Smart averaged career highs in points (13.1), assists (5.7), blocks (0.5) and minutes (32.9) last season. 5:10 p.m. ET: The New Orleans Pelicans are closing in on a three-year, $38 million deal with guard Josh Hart, his agents Aaron Mintz, Steven Heumann and Dave Spahn told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
