To our listeners,

During our broadcast of the University of Hawaii-UC Davis men’s basketball game last week Thursday, play-by-play announcer Bobby Curran made a hurtful and inappropriate comment about the UC Davis Cheer Team.

While Bobby is a valued member of our ESPN 1420 team, we do not condone his comment. His words were unacceptable and contrary to what our station strives to represent as a member of our local community. On behalf of the ESPN 1420 team we extend a sincere apology to our listeners, UC Davis and the University of Hawaii for this unfortunate incident.

Bobby Curran is deeply remorseful for his comments and extended his personal apology on air to his listeners.

Further actions regarding this matter will be handled internally.
