On this date in 2004, 13th ranked Hawaii went up 2-0 on No. 17 Arizona in the final match of the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic at The Stan Sheriff Center. However, the Wildcats bared down to force a 5th and decisive set. In front of crowd of 6,661 All-Tournament Team selection Susie Boogaard led the way for UH, putting away a team-high 21 kills. Fellow pin hitter Alicia Arnott added 18 kills and 12 digs. All-Tournament Team selection Victoria Prince had 12 kills and 6 blocks, while Tara Hittle chipped in with 10 kills. Libero Ashley Watanabe had a career-high 20 digs and setter Kanoe Kamanao would have her 3rd straight double-double of the Classic, 52 assists and 12 digs as the Rainbow Wahine held on for a 15-11 5th set victory and win the Classic title.
