ESPN Honolulu is launching a new Web series today. We call it, “Fan Friday: Talk Story.” Each Friday, host Tiff Wells will sit down with a University of Hawaii coach or student-athlete for a lively one-on-one Zoom conversation. This is a great opportunity to learn more about your favorite UH players and coaches!
For our debut, Tiff chats with UH receiver Jared Smart. The 6-9, 190-lb. senior is the team’s top returning pass catcher, with 87 receptions for 1,129 yards and 5 TDs in 2019. During the interview, Smart talks about:
• Preparing for the 2020 (2021?) season and staying focused even during a global pandemic.
• His thoughts on Nick Rolovich’s departure and new head coach Todd Graham.
• Coping with the California wildfires that are threatening his hometown of Oakland.
• Being the son of college basketball great Keith Smart, hero of the 1987 NCAA championship game.
• Who he views as today’s NFL’s best receivers.
And much more!
