In 2008, it was the final match of Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational and for 10th ranked Hawai`i and Washington, it would determine the champion of the Invitational. UH found themselves down in the championship match by 2 sets to the 9th ranked Huskies. More Manoa Magic occurred that Saturday evening as the Bows rallied in the final three sets (26-24, 25-14, 16-14) to win the match and claim the invitational title. Jamie Houston led UH with 27 kills and Kanani Herring added 21 kills and 16 digs as the Rainbow Wahine improved their record to 7-2. But it was Junior middle hitter Amber Kaufman who would put herself in the UH record books. Kaufman set a UH single match record with 11 service aces while also adding 10 kills and 6 digs to hand the Huskies their first loss of the season.
