In 2013, it was day 2 of the Shocker Volleyball Classic in Wichita, Kansas. A rare, non-conference tournament appearance on the mainland for the Bows and they were coming off a sweep of South Dakota the day before. 7th ranked Hawai`i took the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-16. But 23rd ranked Creighton wasn’t going away without a fight and would force a 5th and decisive set. The Blue Jays took the opening point, but that would be their only lead of the 5th. The Rainbow Wahine took an early 3-1 lead and would trade points until the side change, leading 8-6. A 4-0 Rainbow run expanded the lead to 12-7 and Emily Hartong’s 20th kill ended the match 15-9. Hartong added 16 digs for the double-double. Tai Manu-Olevao added a double-double of her own (14 kills and 14 digs), Kalei Adolpho had 13 kills to hit .480 and Ali Longo led all players with a match high 23 digs as Hawai`i upped their overall record to 10-1.
