University of Hawaii spokesman and Director of Communications Dan Meisenzahl joined “The Josh Pacheco Show” yesterday to discuss the university’s response to the City & County of Honolulu’s decision to bar fans from attending UH sporting events for the foreseeable future.
Said Meisenzahl, “We’re obviously very disappointed. But at the same time, we understand what’s happening in our community right now, and that’s why we’re working closely with the City & County and Mayor Blangiardi and the state Department of Health and the Governor’s Office … We’re all working together to address this crisis. So we’re disappointed, but you know what? The sun will rise tomorrow. We’re ready for our fans to come back, and I know the fans are ready for our sporting events, so hopefully this is just a short-term setback.”
