PHOTOS: UH Baseball Alumni Game

By Jarin Kobashigawa.

As the University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warrior baseball team prepares for their 2022 season with new head coach Rich Hill, they took some time out this past Saturday to play their traditional seven-inning scrimmage against an alumni team. The current ‘Bows dominated the game in every all aspect. Pitchers Cory Ronan, Harry Gustin, and Ben Whipple collectively threw a no-hitter and held the alumni scoreless. Offensively, the ‘Bows were held in check for the first two innings but got hot later on and exploded with 19 runs on 15 hits and a couple of alumni errors.

After meeting the alumni on Sunday, the team met the community and UH baseball supporters at SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff for the program’s annual fundraising event, which was renamed this year to “For The Love of The Game.” Coach Hill and the baseball team had the opportunity to introduce themselves and receive a warm welcome from UH supporters.
