As the ESPN Honolulu team relaxed in the Heineken Hangout in right field, the University of Hawaii baseball team took on the No. 5-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores in the first sold-out game this season. The Commodores held a 2-0 lead by the second inning and broke the game wide open with a couple of RBIs in the top of the third and a three-run home run.
The ‘Bows answered back in the bottom of the third with what would be their only two runs of the game. Jordan Donahue’s walk and Scotty Scott’s single through the left side to start the inning allowed Cole Cabrera to move both of them into scoring position on a hit to the third baseman. Kyson Donahue brought J. Donahue home on a ground out to the shortstop. Scott would score right after on a wild pitch.
