Hawaii 68, UC Riverside 67

The No. 3-seeded University of Hawaii men’s basketball team eked out a tight win in last night’s Big West Tournament quarterfinal game against No. 6-seed UC Riverside. The Rainbow Warriors prevailed, 68-67.

The ‘Bows found themselves down by as many as 10 points in the first half, cut the deficit to one just before the half on a three-point shot from Junior Madut. Madut led Hawaii last night with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jerome Desrosiers added 14 points and a team-high 12 rebounds.

Hawaii moves on to play again tonight at 6:30 p.m. Hawaii time against No. 2-seed Cal State Fullerton.
