WNBA DRAFT: Amy Atwell

Monday, April 11, 2022 | By Tiff Wells

Later today, 36 women will hear their name called during the 2022 WNBA Draft (1 p.m. on ESPN). For the first time since 2019, the WNBA Draft will be held in person at the Spring Studios in New York.

One of the more than 108 players that have declared for the draft is former University of Hawai`i standout Amy Atwell.

Atwell, UH’s all-time leader in career starts (126), three-pointers made (205) and three-point attempts (539), was named the 2021-22 Big West Conference Player of the Year in addition to being named to the BWC First-Team for a second-straight season.

The 13th member of UH’s 1,000 point and 500 rebound club, Atwell led the Rainbow Wahine (20-10, 13-3) to their first BWC regular season title since 2015 and first BWC tournament championship since 2016. It was the program’s first time to ever win both the regular season and tournament titles in the same season as they appeared in the NCAA Tournament for a seventh time.

We here at ESPN Honolulu want to wish Amy the best of luck at the next level and hope to hear her named called in today’s draft.
