Mililani — Returning to their home turf after a bye week, the Trojans celebrate their seniors with a 49-14 victory over the Leilehua Mules.
Two energized schools met at Mililani High School on Friday night. Leilehua, without a home field, brought their homecoming celebrations to Mililani while the Trojans hosted a celebration of their own, senior night.
For Mililani Kini McMillan continued to get the majority of the snaps as Quarterback. He completed 13-20 and amassed 170 yards and 3 touchdowns. Emana Tarape, filled in throughout the game as well and completed 8-10 attempts while racking up nine more yards than McMillan, 179 and 2 touchdowns. Six different players caught a touchdown pass for Mililani including their leading receiver, Raymond Roller who caught four passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.
For Leilehua, the run first offense continued to look to junior running back Cole Northington who rushed 21 times for 87 yards. Some trickery behind the line of scrimmage also allowed Northington to complete two passes for 28 yards. Quarterback Dustin Chow was 9-23 on the day with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
The Trojans improve to 5-2 on the year and will take on two tough opponents in the next two weeks, Kapolei and then Kahuku. The Mules fall to 0-6-1 overall and will have time to regroup in their bye week before finishing off their season against Kapolei.
