Wolfpack Defense Sparks PAC-5 Win Over Kalani

PAC-5 bounced back in a big way Friday night, rolling past Kalani, 27-3, in a non-league matchup at Farrington’s Edward ‘Skippa’ Diaz Stadium at Kusunoki Field.

The Wolfpack controlled the game with a swarming defense that forced five turnovers, converting them into 21 points. Elijah Connell-Chavez had a standout night, scoring on both a 65-yard run and a 94-yard fumble return.

PAC-5’s offense struck first in the second quarter after a turnover set up a touchdown pass to Mission Uperesa-Thomas, who finished with two receiving scores. Kalani managed its only points late in the first half with a field goal before the Wolfpack pulled away after the break.

Quarterback Colton Amai-Nakagawa threw for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Connell-Chavez led the ground attack with 133 rushing yards. On the other side, Kalani totaled 161 passing yards and 123 rushing yards, but couldn’t capitalize in the red zone.

PAC-5’s defense sealed the win with multiple interceptions and big plays at key moments, including a goal-line fumble recovery that was returned the length of the field.
