Rainbow Wahine win Outrigger Invitational Behind Gunderson and Reid

After starting 0-4, the University of Hawaiʻi Wahine Volleyball team has won its last two matches via sweep and claimed the 2025 OUTRIGGER Resorts Invitational Championship.

Graduate middle-blocker Bri Gunderson led the way for the Rainbow Wahine against St. John, tallying eight kills, three aces, and four blocks, carrying a .462 hitting percentage. Gunderson was named to the 2025 OUTRIGGER Resorts Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Freshman outside hitter Cha‘lei Reid continued her instant impact first-year campaign, adding nine kills, six aces, and seven digs. Reid was named MVP of the 2025 OUTRIGGER Resorts Invitational.

Hawaiʻi amassed 16 aces against St. John in the Outrigger Invitational, a program record for a three-set match.

The Rainbow Wahine look to build on their momentum as they take on Portland at 7 p.m. HST this Thursday, September 11 at the Bank of Hawaiʻi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center.
