Roosevelt Rallies Past Waipahu, Moves Into Tie for First

The Roosevelt Rough Riders shook off a first-set loss to storm back and defeat Waipahu in four sets, 24-26, 25-12, 25-7, 25-17, on Tuesday night.

Waipahu (6-2) looked sharp early, taking the opening frame in extra points. But Roosevelt (7-1) responded with authority, dominating the next two sets behind strong serving and defense before closing the match with a steady fourth-set performance.

With the victory, the Rough Riders improve to 7-1 on the season, pulling even with Leilehua for the top spot in the standings. Waipahu, meanwhile, slips to third place after suffering just its second loss of the year.
