The 2026 Hawaii State National Letter of Intent Signing Day was held Wednesday morning, November 12, at the Sheraton Waikīkī Beach Resort, where student-athletes from across the state gathered to officially sign their commitments to compete at the collegiate level. Athletes reported before sunrise, with the program running from 6:20 to 7:10 a.m.
Hosted by Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts and the Hawaii State National Letter of Intent Signing Day committee, the event continued a 23-year tradition of celebrating Hawai‘i’s high school athletes and their next steps in college athletics. The signing day program was originally established by Doris Sullivan and the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance (PIAA), which has supported hundreds of student-athletes in pursuing collegiate opportunities since 2001.
In 2017, the event transitioned from PIAA to the Hawaii State National Letter of Intent Signing Day team, where volunteer administrator Kawika Kane has overseen its continued growth. This year’s ceremony brought together student-athletes, families, coaches, administrators, and community supporters for a morning of recognition and celebration.
Special mahalo was extended to the event’s volunteers, Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts, Sheraton Waikīkī, school representatives, and local media who helped make this year’s signing day possible.
