Matt Elliott has been selected by the University of Hawaiʻi to serve as the next athletics director. The appointment is subject to approval by the UH Board of Regents at a meeting that is expected to take place on June 16.
Micah Kāne, President & CEO of the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation was available to comment on this hiring of Elliott.
Elliott and his family returned to Hawaiʻi in 2022, and since 2024, he has taken on the role of Senior Director of Policy and Public Affairs at the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation (HCF), where he has spearheaded advocacy efforts and collaborated with state and local officials throughout the most recent legislative session.
