The 2025 high school football season kicked off where things left off; with a state championship rematch between powerhouses Saint Louis and Kahuku. The Crusaders opened its season with a 20-0 shutout win over the Red Raiders.
Senior quarterback Nainoa Lopes threw for 157 yards, one touchdown, and a late-game rushing score. The Crusaders’ defense held the Kahuku offense to just 120 total yards. Saint Louis’ senior DB, Urijah Belaras scored the first points of the game on a 44-yard pick six.
Wide receiver Kingston Siliado hauled in 13 catches for 142 yards, while Tenari Fuamatu-Maafala surpassed the 100-yards mark on the ground to burn out the clock.
