Mililani opened the season with a nail-biting 9-7 win over Kailua, sealed by Samson Satele’s block of a 37-yard field goal as time expired.
Kekoa Koong hit Bless Hanalei Cabrera-Hopkins for a touchdown, while David Hosier’s punt block led to a safety. Kailua rallied late with an 18-yard TD pass, but the Trojans’ special teams and defense held firm to secure the victory.
