The 1st Annual Hawai‘i Army National Guard Boys Basketball Classic tipped off this past weekend, featuring eight competitive high school programs: Hawai‘i Raiders, Eastside Gray, D94, Ewa Beach, Le Jardin, Da Lou, EightySix and Kailua Eastside.
After two days of exciting matchups, Da Lou and Ewa Beach squared off in Sunday’s championship game. In a hard-fought battle that came down to the wire, Da Lou edged Ewa Beach, 40–38, to capture the first-ever Classic crown and set the tone for what promises to become a staple event in Hawai‘i’s high school basketball calendar.
