Braddahhood & Sistahhood Grindz Kicks Off Year 5 with Mentorship-Focused Gathering

Braddahhood & Sistahhood Grindz officially launched its fifth year with an afternoon dedicated to mentorship, connection, and investing in Hawaiʻi’s next generation of leaders at Ala Moana Shopping Center.

The gathering brought together University of Hawaiʻi coaches and teams, alongside high school state championship programs, creating a rare opportunity for student-athletes to engage directly with leaders at the collegiate level. Through meaningful conversations and guided discussions, athletes were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, develop networking skills, and gain insight into life beyond sport.

The event was led by Ryan Tanaka, whose continued dedication and vision have helped Braddahhood & Sistahhood Grindz grow into a powerful platform for mentorship and community-building across Hawaiʻi’s athletic landscape.

Mahalo to our restaurant partners and staff for their generous support of high school and college athletics, and to all coaches, mentors, and student-athletes who made the Year 5 kickoff a meaningful and impactful experience.

As Braddahhood & Sistahhood Grindz moves forward, the mission remains clear: create spaces where relationships are built, lessons are shared, and Hawaiʻi’s future leaders are empowered.
