Rosenthal Named Big West Player of the Year
Tread Rosenthal continues to stack honors after being named the Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year, as selected by the conference’s head coaches.
The University of Hawai‘i setter powered the Rainbow Warriors to a 9-1 league record and the Big West regular season title, running one of the most efficient offenses in the country. Rosenthal averaged 10.63 assists per set—tops in the conference and among the nation’s best—while guiding UH to a .368 hitting percentage, ranking fourth nationally.
Beyond setting, the junior made his impact felt at the net and from the service line, finishing among the conference leaders in both blocks and aces.
Rosenthal becomes the fifth Rainbow Warrior to earn the award, helping Hawai‘i extend its league-best total to five all-time. He joins former standouts Jakob Thelle and Rado Parapunov as recent recipients of the honor.
A semifinalist for the AVCA National Player of the Year, Rosenthal also earned first-team All-Big West honors for the third consecutive season and picked up a record 11 Big West Setter of the Week selections this year. He helped lead UH to a runner-up finish at the Big West Championship.
