Kohala completed an unbeaten season with a wire-to-wire 49β35 win over Seabury Hall to claim the Division II boys basketball state championship.
The Cowboys set the tone early with an 18β2 first quarter and leaned on their defense all night to keep the Spartans in check. Layden Kauka led the way with 28 points, five rebounds and three assists, earning tournament Most Outstanding Player honors for the third time and helping secure Kohalaβs fourth state title overall.

After an unusually steep and treacherous climb, the Kahuku boys basketball team finally reached the mountain top Friday night by rallying past Punahou, 40-38, in a thriller to win the Hawai'i Army National Guard State Championship.
A spirited and vocal crowd of 2,438 in BankOh Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center watched Inoke Lloyd score the winning basket on a backdoor layup with four seconds remaining to help the Red Raiders to finish the season at 25-4 and win their first state championship since 2017. Defending champ Punahou, which led 10-2 after one period and 20-6 just 34 seconds before halftime, ended up at 27-9.
Kahuku holds off Saint Louis, 42-38, to reach state final
Digging down deep once again to gold off its second straight ILH opponent, Kahuku held off Saint Louis, 42-38, Thursday night in the Hawai'i Army National Guard Boys Basketball State Semifinals.
A tense crowd of about 500 at Hemmeter Field House watched Justus Daley score 12 points and grab eight rebounds as the Red Raiders improved to 24-4 and advanced to Friday night's title game against defending champion Punahou. Keanu Meacham scored a game-high 18 points and Zion Lefotu added 10 points for the Crusaders, who fell to 27-6 and out of the finals for the first time since 2021.

After last yearβs title game loss, the second-seeded Warriors returned to Waipio and defeated top-seeded Kamehameha-HawaiΚ»i 3-0 in the Hele/HHSAA Division II Boys Soccer State Championship, claiming their fourth state crown and first since 2019. The win capped an unbeaten 13-0-2 season.
βIolani Defends Crown with 5-2 Win Over Punahou
βIolani faced its first deficit of the season Wednesday night β and still walked away with another state title.
The Raiders rallied from an early goal to defeat Punahou 5-2 at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex, successfully defending their Hele/HHSAA Division I crown. Chase Yamashita scored twice, while Devin Lee, Soichi Amakata and Brody Awaya also found the back of the net as βIolani pulled away with a dominant second half.

The University of HawaiΚ»i Rainbow Warriors capped their weekend with another 20-plus-point win, rolling past Cal State Northridge 89β68 on Saturday night.
HawaiΚ»i struggled to find its range from beyond the arc early, shooting just 1-for-12 from three in the first half. But the Rainbow Warriors caught fire late before the break, sparked by back-to-back threes from junior forward Ike Finlinson and a pop-out triple from senior center Isaac βBig Fishβ Johnson to close the half.

A strong sense of tradition will be on display as the HawaiΚ»i baseball program welcomes back approximately 50 alumni representing every era of Rainbow Warrior baseball. The alumni gathering will feature a number of notable former standouts, including Kaeo Aliviado, Breland Almadova, Matt Apana, Ricky Bauer, Jordan and Kyson Donahue, Randy Inaba, John Matias, Markus Owens, Jared Quandt, Franz Yuen, and many more.
