Kahuku Punches Ticket to the Title Game

Kahuku is championship bound.

Behind a lockdown defensive effort, Kahuku edged Saint Louis 42-38 on Thursday night to advance to the Hawaii Army National Guard/HHSAA Division I Boys Basketball State Championship game. Justus Daley led the Red Raiders with 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench as Kahuku held the Crusaders to a season-low scoring total.

After trailing at halftime, Kahuku took control in the second half and sealed the win at the free-throw line down the stretch. The victory sends the Red Raiders to their first title game since 2018, ending Saint Louis’ bid for a fifth straight finals appearance.

Kahuku will face top-seeded and defending champion Punahou on Friday at 7 p.m. at Bankoh Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center.
