The Konawaena Wildcats ball out in their first game of the 2023 Punahou Invitational against the San Clemente Tritons from California and win 59-25. Mikela Salazar-Harrell scored a game-high 23 points, including six 3-pointers, and Haikela Hiraishi added 15 points, including three 3-pointers, to help the Wildcats pull away early and then coast to victory. Konawaena closed out the first period with a 10-2 run to lead 18-8, then outscored the Tritons 13-2 in the second period to go ahead 31-10 at the half.
The Wildcats improve to 4-2 on the year and will face two Oahu schools in Moanalua and Campbell before their final match of the Invitational which will be against San Juan Hills.
