ESPN HONOLULU GENERAL CONTEST RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Unless otherwise specified in the official rules for an individual contest or promotion, the following General Contest Rules apply to contests and giveaways conducted by ESPN Honolulu.

ELIGIBILITY

Contests are open to legal residents of the State of Hawaiʻi who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry, unless otherwise specified.

Employees of ESPN Honolulu, its parent, affiliated or subsidiary companies, advertising and promotional agencies, participating sponsors, prize suppliers, and members of their immediate families or households are not eligible to participate or win.

Additional eligibility requirements may apply to individual contests and will be stated in the specific rules or promotional materials for that contest.

ENTRIES

Contest entries must include all information requested at the time of entry. Depending on the contest, this may include the entrant’s full name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, date of birth or other information necessary to verify eligibility.

Incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, late, lost, misdirected or otherwise invalid entries may be disqualified.

ESPN Honolulu is not responsible for technical failures, internet or mobile service interruptions, telephone malfunctions, unavailable networks, failed electronic transmissions or other circumstances that may prevent an entry from being received.

For contests requiring online, email, social media or mail entries, ESPN Honolulu is not responsible for entries that are delayed, lost, incomplete, misdirected or not received due to technical issues or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

ON-AIR CONTESTS AND GIVEAWAYS

For contests and giveaways conducted on-air, listeners must follow the instructions announced by ESPN Honolulu. This may include calling a designated telephone number, being a specified caller number, correctly answering a question, identifying a sound, phrase, person or other item, or completing another announced method of entry.

Unless otherwise specified, being the designated caller does not automatically guarantee a prize. The caller must meet all eligibility requirements and comply with these General Contest Rules and any additional requirements announced for the specific contest.

Only calls received through the telephone number designated by ESPN Honolulu during the applicable contest period will be eligible. ESPN Honolulu is not responsible for busy signals, dropped or disconnected calls, telephone or carrier issues, equipment malfunctions, delays or any other circumstances that may prevent a listener from successfully completing a call.

If a call is disconnected before the caller has been confirmed as a winner and ESPN Honolulu is unable to reconnect with the caller, ESPN Honolulu may select another caller at its discretion.

Callers may be required to provide their full name, telephone number, email address, mailing address, date of birth and/or other information necessary to verify identity and eligibility before being confirmed as a winner.

All on-air contest decisions made by ESPN Honolulu are final.

LIMITATIONS

Unless otherwise specified, only one winner per household is permitted for each contest.

A person may win an ESPN Honolulu contest no more than once every 60 days, regardless of the method of entry, unless otherwise stated in the rules for a specific contest.

Use of multiple identities, accounts, email addresses, telephone numbers or other methods to circumvent contest entry limitations may result in disqualification.

All decisions made by ESPN Honolulu regarding eligibility, entries, winner selection and interpretation of these rules are final.

All participants agree to be bound by these General Contest Rules and any additional rules applicable to an individual contest.

Contests are void where prohibited or restricted by law. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

PRIZES

Prize details and approximate retail values, when applicable, will be specified in the rules or promotional materials for each individual contest.

Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged or redeemed for cash unless otherwise specified.

ESPN Honolulu reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its reasonable control.

Any costs or expenses associated with the acceptance or use of a prize that are not specifically included as part of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

All federal, state and local taxes, fees and other expenses associated with the acceptance or use of a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners may be required to provide ESPN Honolulu with a completed IRS Form W-9 or other documentation necessary for tax reporting purposes. If the value of a prize or the total value of prizes awarded to a winner during the applicable calendar year meets or exceeds the applicable IRS reporting threshold, ESPN Honolulu may issue the winner an IRS Form 1099-MISC or other applicable tax form.

WINNER NOTIFICATION AND CLAIMING A PRIZE

Winners will be notified using the contact information provided at the time of entry or through another method specified for the individual contest.

Winners may be required to provide valid government-issued photo identification and proof of eligibility before receiving a prize. Winners may also be required to complete and sign an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, publicity release and/or other documentation as required by ESPN Honolulu.

Unless otherwise specified, prizes must be claimed within 30 days of winner notification. Failure to respond, provide required documentation or claim a prize within the designated time period may result in forfeiture of the prize.

Depending on the prize, winners may be required to pick up the prize at a location designated by ESPN Honolulu. Certain prizes may be mailed or delivered at ESPN Honolulu’s discretion. ESPN Honolulu is not responsible for prizes that are lost, stolen, damaged or misdirected after shipment or delivery.

Unclaimed or forfeited prizes may not be awarded.

PUBLICITY RELEASE

Except where prohibited by law, participation in an ESPN Honolulu contest constitutes permission for ESPN Honolulu and participating contest sponsors to use a winner’s name, voice, photograph, image, likeness, city of residence and/or submitted contest materials for advertising, promotional and publicity purposes in any media without additional compensation or notice.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONTESTS

Contests conducted through Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok or other social media platforms are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with those platforms unless specifically stated otherwise.

By entering a social media contest, participants acknowledge that they are providing their information to ESPN Honolulu and/or the identified contest sponsor and not to the social media platform.

Entrants must comply with the applicable platform’s terms of use and community guidelines.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

ESPN Honolulu reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel or terminate a contest if circumstances beyond its reasonable control affect the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the contest.

ESPN Honolulu reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who attempts to tamper with the entry process, violates these rules, provides false information, engages in fraudulent activity or otherwise interferes with the fair administration of a contest.

In the event of a conflict between these General Contest Rules and the specific official rules issued for an individual contest, the rules for the individual contest will control.

ADDITIONAL RULES

Individual contests may include additional eligibility requirements, entry limitations, deadlines, prize restrictions or other conditions. Any additional terms will be announced on-air, included in the applicable contest materials or published on ESPN Honolulu’s website.
