‘Bows Break Through Late, Take Down HPU 4–1 at Home

The University of Hawai‘i baseball team used a decisive seventh-inning surge to defeat Hawai‘i Pacific, 4-1, Wednesday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Locked in a scoreless battle through six innings, HPU struck first in the top of the seventh. The Rainbow Warriors answered immediately, stringing together four runs in the bottom half behind timely hits and patient at-bats to seize control.

Hawai‘i’s pitching staff set the tone early, combining for six hitless innings and carrying a no-hitter into the seventh. In total, seven pitchers held the Sharks to just one run on three hits.

Gabe Wright extended his hitting streak to eight games, while Tate Shimao added a multi-hit performance to help lead the offense.

The Rainbow Warriors improve to 13-10 and return to action this weekend, hosting Cal State Fullerton in a three-game series beginning Friday night.
