With 19:35 left in the first half and the score tied at 0-0, graduate guard Dre Bullock took the inbounds pass as Cal State Bakersfield set up a full-court press, looking to force an early turnover against the University of Hawaiβi Rainbow Warriors.
Bullock read it instantly. He blew past the pressure with a speed dribble, leaving multiple Roadrunner defenders behind. Seeing a clear lane to the basket, Bullock attacked the paint and threw down a vicious tomahawk slam, igniting the crowd and opening the scoring for Hawaiβi.

For the first time in Hawaiβi, the University of Hawaiβi Rainbow Warrior menβs volleyball team hosted a doubleheader, defeating Division II opponents Roberts Wesleyan University Redhawks (25-21, 25-17, 25-16) and Rockhurst University Hawks (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-13).
The Rainbow Warriors started the doubleheader at 11 a.m. against the Redhawks, rolling out a lineup of underclassmen led by sophomore outside hitter Kainoa Wade, who turned in a career-high 21 kills and five digs on a .514 hitting percentage.

A partisan but equally vocal crowd of about 300 and statewide TV audience on Spectrum OC16 watched Ronin Naihe score a game-high 18 points and grab eight rebounds and Kashus Daley add 17 points and six boards as the Red Raiders improved to 15-4 overall and 5-1 in league play. Dylan Kunz registered a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Sebastian Ledda added 10 points, three boards and two steals for the Surfriders, who fell to 15-7, 5-1.
No. 2 Hawaiβi Sweeps NJIT to Open 2026 Season at Home
As 5,685 fans rose to their feet in set three at the Bank of Hawaiβi Arena inside the Stan Sheriff Center, the University of Hawaiβi menβs volleyball team prepared to receive the serve from NJIT, already holding a commanding 24β14 lead.
The Rainbow Warriors (1-0) controlled the first two sets, defeating the Highlanders (0-1) by margins of 14 and 11 in sets one and two, and looked to close out NJIT for a clean sweep in the opening match of the 2026 season.

After a slow first half, the University of HawaiΚ»i Rainbow Warriors found themselves in a tight 55β52 battle with a gritty UTEP Miners squad late in the second half.
With 3:00 remaining, senior forward Gytis Nemeiksa launched a three from the right wing that rattled off the back iron. Senior forward and team captain Harry Rouhliadeff was there to clean it up, muscling through two Miner defenders for a putback layup to push HawaiΚ»iβs lead to 57β52.
