Warriors Finish Perfect League Run With Another Title
Another Year. Same Result.
Kamehameha added another banner to the rafters, taking down ‘Iolani 50-39 to secure the Division I state championship and cap an undefeated run through league play.
This one didn’t start comfortably. The Raiders struck first, building an early six-point lead and forcing the Warriors to respond. They did — and quickly. A decisive run to close the opening quarter flipped the momentum, and from that point forward, Kamehameha dictated the pace.
Defense tightened. Rebounding tilted in the Warriors’ favor. Possessions became more efficient. By halftime, control had shifted. By the end of the third quarter, separation was clear.
Nihoa Dunn delivered in her final high school game, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and secure tournament Most Outstanding Player honors. Even after fouling out in the fourth quarter, Kamehameha showed its depth. The lead stretched to 14 late behind a surge from sophomore Andrea Porecca, who finished with 16 points.
The championship marks the fourth win over ‘Iolani this season and another statement from a program that continues to reload rather than rebuild. With key seniors moving on, the foundation remains — and so does the expectation.
Kamehameha stands alone once again.
