The University of Hawai‘i men’s basketball team dropped an 84–75 decision to Long Beach State on Senior Night at the Stan Sheriff Center but still locked up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Big West Tournament.

Long Beach State’s Gavin Sykes poured in a game-high 34 points, hitting a trio of late three-pointers to pull away in the final minutes. Shaquil Bender added 20 as the Beach shot 55 percent from the field.

Hawai‘i had four players score in double figures, led by Hunter Erickson’s 23 points. Isaac Johnson finished with 16, Isaac Finlinson added 15, and Dre Bullock chipped in 14.
