HAWAIʻI OPENS OUTRIGGER INVITATIONAL WITH SWEEP
The Rainbow Wahine opened the OUTRIGGER Invitational with a straight-set win over Utah Tech on Thursday at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
Hawaiʻi improved to 2-2 with the 25-17, 25-11, 26-24 victory, earning its first sweep of the season.
Panna Ratkai led UH with 12 kills, while Tali Hakas added 10 kills and 12 digs for her 11th career double-double. Adrianna Arquette finished with 36 assists as the Rainbow Wahine hit a season-best .309.
UH controlled the first two sets before rallying late in the third. Trailing 23-21, Ratkai delivered three straight kills before sealing the match with a solo block.
Hawaiʻi returns to action Friday against Loyola Marymount at 7 p.m. HT. The match will air on K5 and MW+ with radio coverage on ESPN Honolulu.
