Hawaiʻi Outlasts LMU in Five-Set Battle
Hawaiʻi outlasted Loyola Marymount in five sets, 25-10, 25-18, 22-25, 26-28, 15-11, Friday night at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Wahine took control early with wins in the first two sets before LMU battled back to force a fifth. UH responded in the deciding frame, jumping out to an 8-3 lead and holding on for the win.
Panna Ratkai finished with a season-high 21 kills and 10 digs, while Miliana Sylvester added 13 kills and Rachel Purser recorded 10 kills on .556 hitting. Victoria Leyva tied her career high with 29 digs.
The win improved Hawaiʻi to 3-2 and handed LMU its first loss of the season.
