ʻIolani Football Head Coach Wendell Look Retires After 35 Years

It marks the end of an era at ʻIolani as longtime head football coach Wendell Look has announced his retirement after 35 years leading the Raiders.

A 1978 graduate of ʻIolani, Look built one of the most successful programs in Hawai‘i high school football history. He compiled more than 200 career victories while guiding the Raiders to 14 Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) championships and nine state titles.

Look also served as the school’s athletic director, further impacting ʻIolani athletics across programs.

His retirement closes a historic chapter for Raider football, leaving behind a legacy defined by excellence both on and off the field.
