Le Jardin Captures First-Ever DII Boys Volleyball State Title

Le Jardin made program history Friday night, sweeping Pearl City 25-18, 25-9, 25-21 to win the New City Nissan/HHSAA Division II Boys Volleyball State Championship at Cannon Activities Center.

Laʻakea Kamahele led the Bulldogs with a match-high 20 kills while hitting .548 in the title match. Le Jardin dominated offensively, finishing with a .479 team hitting percentage and extending its winning streak to 11 matches.

Jake Heidsieck added eight kills, Kala Fraser recorded seven kills without an error and Brennan Nakayama dished out 39 assists in the championship win.

The Bulldogs completed their historic run despite battling heavy traffic and weather-related road closures on the way to Laie earlier in the day.

Pearl City, which entered the final unbeaten, was led by Josiah Talamoa’s 16 kills in the runner-up finish.
