Punahou Opens ILH Play with Sweep of Mid-Pac
Punahou opened its ILH Division I season with a straight-set win over Mid-Pacific, 25-19, 25-17, 25-14.
Tanoa Scanlan led the Buffanblu with 14 kills, while five other Punahou players added at least four in a balanced offensive effort.
After a tight opening set, Punahou found its rhythm in the second and third behind increased production from Nalu Akana, who finished with seven kills. The Buffanblu also applied steady pressure from the service line to keep the Owls out of system.
Cameron Porter added eight kills and sealed the match with an ace as Punahou completed the sweep.
