Timmy Chang Signs Five-Year Extension Through 2031
Hawai‘i football head coach Timmy Chang is staying home for five more years.
University of Hawai‘i Athletics Director Matt Elliott announced Saturday night at the Braddahhood Ball that Chang has signed a five-year contract extension that will keep him at the helm of the Rainbow Warriors through January 2031.
Chang, a former record-setting quarterback for the Rainbow Warriors, returned to Mānoa as head coach in January 2022. The extension gives Chang the opportunity to continue building the Hawai‘i football program and the culture he has established over his first four seasons.
The announcement comes as the Rainbow Warriors prepare for the 2026 season and Chang’s fifth year leading his alma mater.
Hawai‘i opens the 2026 season on Saturday, Aug. 29, on the road against Stanford.
