Rainbow Warriors Return Home After Split Road Trip, Set for Big West Weekend
After a central California road trip, the University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors return home to the Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center, where they will face the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners and CSU Northridge Matadors in a weekend slate of Hawaiʻi Hoops.
The Rainbow Warriors went 1–1 on their second California road swing, opening with an 86–66 victory over Cal Poly before falling 77–62 to UC Santa Barbara.
Hawaiʻi Volleyball Goes 2-0 in All-Day Doubleheader
In a reprise of an all-day doubleheader, the University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warrior volleyball team showcased both its depth and dominance, going undefeated against Division II opponents Rockhurst and Roberts Wesleyan.
Hawaiʻi swept Rockhurst (25-19, 25-9, 25-15) in the morning match before closing out the day with another straight-set win over Roberts Wesleyan (25-22, 25-22, 25-20).
Rainbow Warriors Take Both Matches in First-Ever Home Doubleheader
For the first time in Hawai‘i, the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warrior men’s volleyball team hosted a doubleheader, defeating Division II opponents Roberts Wesleyan University Redhawks (25-21, 25-17, 25-16) and Rockhurst University Hawks (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-13).
The Rainbow Warriors started the doubleheader at 11 a.m. against the Redhawks, rolling out a lineup of underclassmen led by sophomore outside hitter Kainoa Wade, who turned in a career-high 21 kills and five digs on a .514 hitting percentage.
'Iolani boys hold off Maryknoll, 51-46, move atop ILH standings
In a typically tight ILH boys basketball race, 'Iolani protected home court Thursday night with a narrow 51-46 victory over visiting Maryknoll to move into first place in the league standings.
A sparse crowd at the Raiders' Lower Gym watched Declan Beckette score a game-high 18 points to help 'Iolani improve to 11-5 overall and 3-1 in the ILH, a half-game ahead of second-place four-time defending champion Saint Louis (2-1). Mission Uperesa-Thomas scored 13 points to lead the Spartans, who fell to 11-9, 2-2.

The OIA Eastern Division boys basketball title chase is now back to a neck-and-neck two-horse race, after visiting Kahuku sped past Kailua, 56-41, in a showdown at Harry Murai Gym.
A partisan but equally vocal crowd of about 300 and statewide TV audience on Spectrum OC16 watched Ronin Naihe score a game-high 18 points and grab eight rebounds and Kashus Daley add 17 points and six boards as the Red Raiders improved to 15-4 overall and 5-1 in league play. Dylan Kunz registered a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Sebastian Ledda added 10 points, three boards and two steals for the Surfriders, who fell to 15-7, 5-1.
No. 2 Hawai‘i Sweeps NJIT to Open 2026 Season at Home
As 5,685 fans rose to their feet in set three at the Bank of Hawai‘i Arena inside the Stan Sheriff Center, the University of Hawai‘i men’s volleyball team prepared to receive the serve from NJIT, already holding a commanding 24–14 lead.
The Rainbow Warriors (1-0) controlled the first two sets, defeating the Highlanders (0-1) by margins of 14 and 11 in sets one and two, and looked to close out NJIT for a clean sweep in the opening match of the 2026 season.
Rouhliadeff Cleans Up Late as Hawaiʻi Outlasts UTEP
After a slow first half, the University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors found themselves in a tight 55–52 battle with a gritty UTEP Miners squad late in the second half.
With 3:00 remaining, senior forward Gytis Nemeiksa launched a three from the right wing that rattled off the back iron. Senior forward and team captain Harry Rouhliadeff was there to clean it up, muscling through two Miner defenders for a putback layup to push Hawaiʻi’s lead to 57–52.
Campbell strikes past Kamehameha in OT, 26-23, for first Open Division State Championship
With one clutch strike, Campbell quarterback Brayden Medeiros threw a perfect 17-yard pass to Zayne Pasion for the winning touchdown Friday night to lift the Sabers to a thrilling 26-23 overtime victory over Kamehameha and the school's first First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Open Division Football State Championship.

With 12 minutes left in the first half, senior starting center Isaac Johnson picked up two quick fouls, booking his ticket to the bench earlier than expected. The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warrior basketball team was clinging to a slim 17–14 lead despite a hot start, trying to hold off the UC Davis Aggies. Stepping in for Johnson was graduate forward and Seton Hall transfer Yacine Toumi, who typically plays in shorter spurts behind the senior center. But tonight, Toumi had to shoulder the load — and he delivered.

In a defensive power struggle that ended with fireworks, Kailua rallied past -- and then held off -- Kapa'a, 13-9, Friday night to win its first First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Division I Football State Championship.
An official crowd of 2,512 at John Kauinana Stadium watched the Surfriders score the go-ahead touchdown with 3:31 remaining and then seal the victory with Keoki Cypriano's interception with 25 seconds left to finish the season at 12-3. The Warriors, who had taken a 9-6 lead on Yair Antonio's 22-yard field goal on the second play of the fourth quarter, came up just short in a repeat state title bid and ended up 8-2.
Campbell rallies past Kahuku, 15-12, for state title game berth
In a race to the pylon, Campbell's Tainoa Lave dashed and dived into the right front corner of paydirt with two seconds remaining Friday evening to lift Campbell to a stunning 15-12 victory over Kahuku in a thrilling First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA State Championship semifinal game at John Kauinana Stadium.
The Sabers (8-3) will be making the school's first appearance in the Open Division state title game on Dec. 5 against Kamehameha (5-4); their only other state championship taste was the Division II win against 'Iolani in 2004. Kahuku, the defending state runner-up, ends its season at 8-4.
Warriors Hold Off Utah Tech to Claim Consecutive Rainbow Classic Titles
For the first time in 21 years, the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warriors have won back-to-back Rainbow Classic titles, defending their crown at the oldest-running tournament in the country.
Hawai‘i controlled the first two days of the tournament, routing Mississippi Valley State (1-5) 88–56 and Manhattan (3-2) 86–56. Senior center Isaac “Big Fish” Johnson posted 25 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Manhattan, setting up a championship matchup with Utah Tech.
Hawai‘i Stuns First-Place San Diego State with Dominant 38–6 Win
As the rain poured down throughout the game, junior nickelback Elijah Palmer lined up in his slot position. Already up 31-6 with 2:07 left in the third quarter, the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warriors had carved up the San Diego State defense and were shutting down the Aztec offense just as effectively.
Blocked Out! Hawai‘i Smothers Matadors for Payback Sweep
After being swept on the road by the Cal State Northridge Matadors, the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team avenged that loss in emphatic fashion, defeating the Matadors in straight sets last night.
The Rainbow Wahine were firing on all cylinders, racking up 40 kills as a team while committing only nine errors for a .316 hitting percentage on the night. Hawai‘i also delivered nine service aces, treating this match with playoff-like intensity.
Behind Arceneaux’s Dominant Night, ‘Iolani Regains State Throne
After falling to the Kamehameha Warriors a year ago, the ‘Iolani Raiders reclaimed the state crown, sweeping the Kahuku Red Raiders to capture their fifth state championship in program history.
Sophomore middle blocker Elle Arceneaux led the charge for ‘Iolani (17-1, 11-1 ILH), posting 10 kills and three block assists while coming up clutch in key moments to help secure the title. Her performance earned her OC16 Player of the Game honors.
San José State Air Attack Too Much for Hawai‘i in Road Defeat
Coming off its second bye week of the season, the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warriors were unable to extend their winning streak to four games, falling to San José State.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Micah Alejado turned in a strong performance despite the loss, completing 31 of 46 passes for 376 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore wide receiver Jackson Harris led Hawai‘i’s receiving corps with six catches for 134 yards and two scores.
Kapolei holds off Mililani, 21-14, to reach first OIA Open Division final
Chazz-Michael Kapahu rushed for 148 yards and one touchdown and Valoia Amitoelau added the 11-yard go-ahead TD run with 8:17 remaining Friday night to help visiting Kapolei hold off Mililani, 21-14, to advance to its first OIA Open Division football championship game in school history.
