2x Defending State Champion Mililani Advances Past Lahainaluna

The defending Division I state champions opened their title defense in dominant fashion.

Mililani powered past Lahainaluna 13-2 in five innings Tuesday morning at the HHSAA Division I Softball State Championships at McKinley High School.

The Trojans collected 13 hits in the win, led by Lana Nakayama, who went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Emry Alonzo added three hits and three RBIs, while Aubri Nakashima scored three runs and reached base four times.

Taylor Adriano earned the win in the circle, allowing two runs with five strikeouts over four innings.

Mililani advances to the state quarterfinals and will face top-seeded Maryknoll tonight at 7 p.m. at McKinley.
